Suluada lies well beyond the bays a normal Side boat trip reaches, and that distance is its magic: pale sand, water in improbable shades of turquoise and the legendary Love Cave close by. Because it sits so far down the coast, the day starts with an early air-conditioned pickup from hotels in Side and the surrounding resorts.
After the coastal drive the boat casts off from the Adrasan side and makes for the island. Once there, it anchors just off the beach, and small tender boats ferry you across to the bay — a short hop that lands you straight on that famous white sand.
Swimming and snorkelling stops here are long and unhurried, and lunch is cooked fresh on board: grilled fish or chicken with rice or pasta, Turkish mezes and a seasonal salad, rounded off with fruit and Turkish tea. Only drinks from the bar and optional photos go on your own bill.
There is no shop on Suluada, so bring the full beach kit yourself: swimwear, a towel, a hat and sunglasses.
White sand and open turquoise water bounce the sun straight back at you, which makes a high-SPF sunscreen essential rather than optional. An optional breakfast can be bought locally at the Adrasan stop — welcome after the early start.
